Kate McCrery is the Interim Director for Loyola’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Development and an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business. Originally hailing from the New Orleans area, Kate was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany and also taught high school students in Busan, South Korea. Previously, she was with the international social entrepreneurship fellowship organization Echoing Green and also worked asĀ Global Communications Director for Village Capital, a Washington DC-based impact investment fund and accelerator program for entrepreneurs solving social problems.

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Development is a student-centered, community-engaged, and impact-driven organization that serves as an entrepreneurial hub for Loyola University New Orleans and the greater New Orleans area. With an emphasis on training a new generation of founders eager to build scalable businesses with a high social impact, the CECD practices an interdisciplinary approach to entrepreneurship education. Since opening in 2014, the Center for Entrepreneurship at Loyola University has provided hands-on training in problem-solving and creative thinking to young entrepreneurs in every college through internships, pitch competitions, technical training, academic tracks, mentorship opportunities, and community events. The CECD brings the strength of community partnerships to Loyola University students and functions as a vital member of the New Orleans entrepreneurial ecosystem.
